Code of Professional Ethics

The International Association of Close-Combat Professionals (IACCP) established this code of ethics as a best practices standard for members of our association. Our members hold themselves to higher standards than the rest of the close-combat industry. Each IACCP member agrees to conduct business in keeping with this code.

Our 10 Commitments to You

WE AGREE TO:

  1. Understand and teach the truth about self-defense techniques.
  2. Take responsibility for teaching methods and verify that knowledge to an experienced instructor.
  3. Learn how to train an effective self-defense curriculum with students.
  4. Maintain our self-defense training and improve our skills with a continuing education curriculum.
  5. Always honor commitments made to students.
  6. Train students in a safe atmosphere at all times.
  7. Always employ the highest skilled coaches in the close-combat field.
  8. Maintain all equipment in keeping with proper safety standards and to observe all laws and safety regulations established to ensure the safety of our students.
  9. Observe all applicable laws or regulations of state, federal, and other governmental bodies and to conduct only such operations as we can perform with competence.
  10. Participate in only fair and honest advertising of products and services.
